I wonder how that same experience would be in today's world where LGBT actors and characters are embraced, almost celebrated and questioning teens have access to positive role models and more support in general. If you happen to watch 'The Celluloid Closet' and Making the Band, viewers will get a better understanding of the play/movie and should be able to see beyond their knee-jerk reaction to stereotypes and realize it's about MUCH more than a bunch of queens getting catty and hating themselves. It's not offensive at all. Actually, I think the play/movie show a much more diverse array of gay men than the singular flaming hairdresser character I saw over and over as a kid. Great job.
